The tender flesh and mild flavor are excellent for stir-fries, grilling, roasting, curries, and other cooked dishes, while the striking purple fruits make this variety just as exciting to grow as it is to eat. Plants are high yielding and can be grown without support, although staking or trellising can help keep the extra-long fruits straighter and prevent them from resting on the ground.
