Blanc du Bois grapes are a prized cultivar renowned for their remarkable flavor, versatility, and adaptability to various climates. Originating in Florida, this American hybrid grape combines the best traits of its European and American counterparts, resulting in a grape that is both delicious and easy to grow. The Blanc du Bois grape thrives in the southern states, thanks to its exceptional heat and humidity tolerance. Blanc du Bois grapes offer a delightful combination of sweetness and acidity, making them perfect for fresh eating or for wine making. Blanc du Bois grapes have gained popularity among wine enthusiasts and winemakers. Their unique flavor profile, coupled with their excellent balance of sugars and acids, makes them ideal for crafting exceptional white wines. From crisp and dry to sweet and aromatic, Blanc du Bois wines showcase the true essence of this captivating grape variety. Apart from fresh eating and winemaking, Blanc du Bois grapes lend themselves well to a variety of culinary delights. Create delectable grape jellies, jams, pies, and even refreshing grape sorbets. This grape can be eaten fresh and does have small seeds in the middle. I personally find the flavor to be super sweet and delicious. More sweet than standard grocery store grapes.

***What makes this specific cultivar so special is that it is one of the few grape cultivars (that is not a muscadine grape), that can grow well in the Southern United States as it is resistant to Pierce's Disease***

Ideal Growing Conditions
Blanc du Bois grapes thrives in warm, humid climates and is ideal for USDA hardiness zones 7-11. It prefers full sun, requiring at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily to produce a strong crop of fruit. This variety grows best in well-draining soil, with a slightly acidic to neutral pH level (around 5.5 to 7.0). If your soil is heavy clay or poorly draining, amending with organic matter can improve its structure.

Blanc du Bois grapes require regular watering, especially during the establishment phase and in dry periods, but they do not tolerate waterlogged soil. Aim to keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. A deep watering schedule, about once a week, is usually sufficient, although more frequent watering may be necessary during hot weather.

For optimal growth, apply a balanced fertilizer (such as 10-10-10) in early spring, just as the vine begins to grow. Additional light feedings every 6-8 weeks throughout the growing season can help boost fruit production.

Shipping

***I cannot ship this plant to Hawaii due to agricultural restrictions***
Please understand that I only offer USPS flat rate priority mail options for plants/bulbs/rhizomes. The longer they stay in transit, the greater the risk that it will arrive dead or damaged. I just want to ensure that plants arrive alive/healthy to my customers.

Shipping Information

Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.

Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.

Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. I also have lots of information on my TikTok, Instagram and YouTube channel all under the account name jerrasgarden. I started this shop to share my love of certain seed varieties and spread the knowledge of gardening. Please contact me if you can't find information or have additional questions.

Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.

Refunds & Exchanges

No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
