Learn how to grow broccoli from seed all the way to harvest with my YouTube video tutorial: https://youtu.be/R1Hfanp3mrY

Grow your own Broccoli Raab, also known as Rapini, a flavorful and versatile green cherished by chefs worldwide. Unlike traditional broccoli, rapini doesn’t form a central head. Instead, it produces tender green leaves and clusters of yellow flower buds that are prized for their bold, slightly bitter flavor. Perfect for sautéing, steaming, or adding to salads, these greens are a staple in Mediterranean and Italian cuisines. With a quick growth cycle, Broccoli Raab is an excellent cool-season crop for gardeners seeking a unique addition to their kitchen garden.

We have a very small window to grow brassicas like broccoli raab in Florida. These crops bolt very easily when there is a hot day. Therefore, I grow brassicas during late fall, winter, and early spring. This can also be challenging because winter weather in Florida fluctuates so much. We have a cold day followed by a very warm day. Again, this triggers traditional brassicas to bolt. I find that if I have not harvested all of my broccoli/cauliflower by March, then its too late.

Follow me on social media because I post a lot of information on how to grow the very same seeds available in my shop. Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok: jerrasgarden.

PLANTING
Germination: 7-14 days

Seed Sowing Depth: 1/4” deep, barely press the seeds into the surface of the soil

Sowing: Can direct sow or start in seed trays. Typically grown in fall, winter, and spring. If you live in colder climates you can grow during the summer as well.  For zones 8 and up - sow seeds in doors during the month of August. I do not recommend sowing seeds outdoors because its too hot and it will stunt seedling growth. The brassicas family is sensitive to hot temperatures. Start fertilizing with a liquid fertilizer at half strength, once the seedlings grow their first set of true leaves. Seedlings should be transplant ready in about two months.

Days to maturity: 60 days

Shipping Information

Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.

Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.

Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. I also have lots of information on my TikTok, Instagram and YouTube channel all under the account name jerrasgarden. I started this shop to share my love of certain seed varieties and spread the knowledge of gardening. Please contact me if you can't find information or have additional questions.

Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.

Refunds & Exchanges

No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
