Cinnamon Basil Herb Seeds – Warm Spice Flavor for Teas & Desserts

Discover a basil that smells like the holidays! Cinnamon Basil (Ocimum basilicum ‘Cinnamon’) stands out with its striking violet-tinged stems, lilac flower spikes, and warm, spicy-sweet aroma driven by high levels of cinnamaldehyde—the very compound that gives true cinnamon its scent. Leaves add a gentle heat and hint of clove to fruit salads, chutneys, mulled cider, Mexican mole, herbal teas, and even baked goods. Plants reach 18-24 in. tall, branch vigorously, and draw bees and butterflies all season. Start seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last frost or direct sow after your last spring frost date, barely covering the seeds because light aids in germination. Pinch plant tips early and often to delay flowering and encourage bushy growth. Harvest in the cool morning for peak oils, and don’t worry about heat—Cinnamon Basil thrives in summer warmth and looks gorgeous in containers.

PLANTING
Germination: 5-10 days
Seed Sowing Depth: lightly cover with soil, about 1/4 inch
Sowing: Can direct sow or start in seed trays 6-8 weeks before your last spring frost date. Not frost hardy and does not like extreme heat. If your in a hot climate with mild winters, start seeds indoors in August to grow through fall, winter, and spring.
Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.
Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.
Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.
No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
