Musa 'Dwarf Green'

Listing is for one rooted plant. Plants are grown in 72 cell trays so that they will be rooted but small enough for efficient shipping.  Check out my YouTube video "Live Plant Care Guide & Delivery Unboxing for my Customers" for further instructions on what to expect with your live plant delivery and care tips: https://youtu.be/BmPw4rKLwDk

Grow your own delicious bananas at home with a Dwarf Green Banana live starter plant (Musa ‘Dwarf Green’) — a unique dwarf variety that stays around 6 feet tall but still produces large, regular-sized bananas! This is an amazing choice for backyard gardeners because it’s easy to harvest, highly productive, and known for its sweet, creamy fruit with rich orange-colored pulp. One of the coolest features of Dwarf Green is how sturdy and wind-tolerant it is — it has a strong trunk and extra thick leaves compared to many other banana varieties, making it a great option for warm, breezy climates. Plus, the leaves are incredibly useful in the kitchen for wrapping and grilling meats or veggies, steaming foods, and even serving meals — because honestly, banana leaf plates are better than regular plates! Perfect for tropical gardens, patio growing, and anyone who wants a productive banana plant without a massive tree.

How long will it take to start harvesting? Approximately 1 year if grown in ideal conditions.

Ideal Growing Conditions
USDA Hardiness Zones: 9-11
Protect young plants if temperatures drop below 50F. Once established, they can take brief periods of cold down to 32F but expect some leaf damage. The entire plant can die if temperatures drop below 32F. Perennial evergreen - will lose leaves if exposed to too much cold.

Height at Maturity: this is a dwarf banana variety that gets around 6FT tall at maturity

Sun: Full sun is best for maximum growth and production. Can tolerate some partial shade but production will be decreased.

Soil: Everything grows best in soil that is heavy in composted organic matter BUT this plant grows just fine in a variety of soils without amendments, like my native Florida sandy soil.

Water: Monitor young plants and keep consistent water.

Fertilizer: Bananas are nutrient hungry plants. Fertilize every month with a citrus fertilizer or 10-10-10.

Shipping Information

Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.

Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.

Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. I also have lots of information on my TikTok, Instagram and YouTube channel all under the account name jerrasgarden. I started this shop to share my love of certain seed varieties and spread the knowledge of gardening. Please contact me if you can't find information or have additional questions.

Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.

Refunds & Exchanges

No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
