Grow your own delicious, nutrient-packed Georgia Southern collard greens. Collard greens are a staple in Southern cooking—known for their large, tender leaves and rich, earthy flavor. This particular variety, Georgia Southern, is an heirloom favorite dating back to the 1800s. It’s prized for its heat and cold tolerance, slow bolting, and ability to produce generous harvests of big, crinkled blue-green leaves that are perfect for steaming, sautéing, or adding to soups and stews.
Easy to grow and super hardy, collards thrive in full sun and well-drained soil. You can direct sow outdoors in early spring or late summer for a fall crop. They love cooler temps and get even sweeter after a light frost! Space your seeds or seedlings about 18–24 inches apart, and keep the soil consistently moist for the best flavor and growth.

PLANTING
Germination: 3-10 days
Seed Sowing Depth: 1/4” deep, barely press the seeds into the surface of the soil
Sowing: Can direct sow after your last spring frost date or or start indoors, 6 weeks before your last spring frost date.
Days to maturity: 65 days
Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.
Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.
Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.
No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
