Listing is for one rooted plant taken from a cutting. Plants are grown in 72 cell trays so that they will be rooted but small enough for efficient shipping. Grow fresh mulberries in even the smallest garden space with a Mojo Berry® Dwarf Mulberry live starter plant (Morus rotundiloba) — a true compact mulberry variety and a masterpiece of plant breeding developed in Japan by legendary breeder Hajime Matsunaga after decades of work. Unlike traditional mulberry trees that grow huge, Mojo Berry stays only 5–7 feet tall, making it perfect for containers, patios, small yards, and edible landscapes, while still producing tons of sweet, tangy black mulberries from a very young age (it can even fruit while still in the nursery pot!). What makes this variety extra special is its extended fruiting season, producing on both old wood and new wood, which means you can enjoy harvests from May through August–September. It also requires no chilling hours to set fruit, making it an excellent choice for warm-climate gardeners in USDA zones 7–10.

Mulberries are resistant against many pests and diseases, making them an easy fruit crop especially for beginner or home backyard gardeners. Since they are so productive (several gallons harvested per year per plant), even in not so great conditions/soils, they make an awesome addition for those interested in food security, self-sustainability, permaculture and food forest setups.

How long will it take to start fruiting? Approximately 2-3 years if grown in ideal conditions. This is a well rooted starter plant that will grow quickly. Mulberries are a fast growing fruit tree that will start producing earlier compared to other fruit tree options.

Growing Conditions
USDA Hardiness Zones: 7-10

Protect young plants if temperatures drop below 40F.

Perennial fruit tree

Self-fertile but will produce more if there are 2 plants that can cross pollinate with each other

Sun: Full sun

Height at maturity: 6FT

Soil: Everything grows best in soil that is heavy in composted organic matter BUT this fruit tree grows just fine in a variety of soils without amendments, like my native Florida sandy soil.

Fertilizer: Use citrus fertilizer. My favorite is Espoma organic granular citrus-tone. Fertilize young trees to encourage lots of healthy growth with about 1/8 cup every 1.5 months. Once trees are established, I barely fertilize. I'll throw some fertilizer its way a few times a year, starting in spring to help "wake" up the tree.

Shipping Information

Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.

Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.

Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. I also have lots of information on my TikTok, Instagram and YouTube channel all under the account name jerrasgarden. I started this shop to share my love of certain seed varieties and spread the knowledge of gardening. Please contact me if you can't find information or have additional questions.

Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.

Refunds & Exchanges

No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
