This stunning variety of mustard greens features vibrant purple leaves with bright green undersides, creating an eye-catching contrast in any vegetable patch. The mildly spicy flavor intensifies as the leaves mature, making these greens perfect for salads, stir-fries, or pickling. Osaka Purple mustard is also quite hardy, thriving in cool-weather conditions and tolerating a bit of heat with proper care. To grow, sow seeds directly in fertile, well-draining soil in early spring or late summer, spacing them a few inches apart. Keep the soil consistently moist and provide partial shade if temperatures climb. Harvest the baby leaves for a milder flavor or wait until the leaves reach full size for a bolder taste.

Germination: 5-10 days
Seed Sowing Depth: 1/4” deep, barely press the seeds into the surface of the soil
Sowing: Can direct sow or start in seed trays. Typically grown in fall, winter, and spring. If you live in colder climates you can grow spring through fall.
Days to maturity: 60 days
Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.
Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.
Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.
No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
