The “Wonderful” pomegranate is the classic backyard favorite—celebrated for its extra‑large, ruby‑red fruit packed with sweet‑tart juice and jewel‑bright arils, plus a naturally high antioxidant content that makes every harvest as healthy as it is delicious. This self‑pollinating variety is a heavy producer, and has decent drought‑tolerant once established, thriving in Zones 7‑10 with minimal fuss. Plant your tree in full sun, in well‑drained soil, and water deeply but infrequently to encourage a strong root system; a light spring pruning keeps the canopy open for air flow and bigger fruit. In the first year, mulch to retain moisture and protect young roots, and feed with a balanced organic fertilizer in early spring for vigorous growth. With a little care, your “Wonderful” will reward you with fragrant orange‑red blossoms in late spring and baskets of glossy, flavor‑packed pomegranates each fall—perfect for fresh eating, juicing, or festive décor.

Ideal Growing Conditions
USDA Hardiness Zones: 7-10

Cold Protection: Protect young plants if temperatures drop below 40°F. Mature plants can endure brief periods of cold down to 12°F.

Sun: Full sun is ideal for vigorous growth and abundant fruiting

Soil: While pomegranates thrive in rich, compost-heavy soils, it can grow well in a variety of soils if amended with some compost.

Water: Keep soil moisture consistent. Does not like waterlogged or heavily saturated soils. Easily susceptible to root rot. Once established, they are fairly drought-tolerant.

Fertilizer: Mature trees do well with a few applications of fertilizer a year. Young plants benefit from a granular fertilizer mixed into the planting hole for a good start.

Shipping Information

Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.

Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.

Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. I also have lots of information on my TikTok, Instagram and YouTube channel all under the account name jerrasgarden. I started this shop to share my love of certain seed varieties and spread the knowledge of gardening. Please contact me if you can't find information or have additional questions.

Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.

Refunds & Exchanges

No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
