Thai Round Purple Eggplant is a stunning and unique heirloom variety, known for its small, globe-shaped fruits and vibrant purple skin. These eggplants are commonly used in Thai, Indian, and Southeast Asian cuisine, prized for their tender texture and slightly sweet, mild flavor. They hold their shape well when cooked, making them perfect for curries, stir-fries, grilling, and stuffing.
This variety thrives in warm weather and is best grown in full sun with rich, well-drained soil. Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before your last frost date, then transplant outdoors once the weather has warmed. Eggplants are heavy feeders, so be sure to amend your soil with compost and keep them consistently watered for best production. Harvest when fruits are about the size of a tennis ball for the best flavor and texture. A beautiful and productive plant for any garden that loves the heat!

PLANTING
Germination: 10-15 days. To speed up germination I recommend using a heat mat.
Seed Sowing Depth: 1/4” deep
Sowing: I highly recommend to start in pots in doors with a heat mat 6-8 weeks before your last frost date. If you gardening in Florida, we kind of have two opportunities to grow eggplant per year. You can start them in doors around July 1st and transplant into the garden end of September for fall harvest.
Days to maturity: 75 days from transplanting into the garden
Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.
Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.
Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.
No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
