Utah 52 celery is a time‑tested heirloom celebrated for its extra‑long, crisp, pale‑green stalks and deep, savory flavor, bred in Utah’s arid climate to handle heat and resist bolting while reaching 18–24 inches tall. Start seeds indoors 10–12 weeks before your last spring frost, pressing them lightly onto moist soil since they need light to germinate; keep temperatures near 70 °F for sprouting in 2–3 weeks. After hardening off, transplant seedlings 8 inches apart into rich, consistently damp soil—celery is a thirsty feeder, so mulch generously and water evenly to prevent hollow stalks. Side‑dress with compost mid‑season, and harvest crunchy stems about 110 days from transplant.

PLANTING
Germination: up to 21 days
Sowing: Grows best in cool or temperate weather and moist soils. In hot climates, grow in partial shade. Sow seeds indoors, in containers/trays 6 weeks before your last spring frost date or indoors (because it is too hot outside), 6 weeks before fall planting time.
Days to maturity: 110 days
Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.
Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.
Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.
No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
