White Lebanese summer squash (Eskenderany Hybrid), is a unique improved hybrid variety of traditional Lebanese zucchini, known for its creamy white skin, tender texture, and mild, nutty flavor. Eskenderany squash types are fast-growing, highly productive, thrive in warm weather, and produce uniform fruits that are perfect for grilling, roasting, stuffing, or adding to Mediterranean dishes. Unlike standard green zucchini, this variety has a smooth, pale exterior and remains buttery soft even when harvested larger.

What is an Eskenderany type of summer squash or zucchini? This squash is a specially bred hybrid that improves upon the traditional Lebanese heirloom, offering better disease resistance, higher yields, and more consistent fruit production. It combines the best traits of old-world Lebanese squash with the vigor of modern hybrids, making it an excellent choice for home gardeners who want reliable harvests all season long.

Squash growing tips: To control powdery mildew and other leaf diseases caused by mold, fungus, or bacteria, simply remove yellowing, damaged, or diseased leaves by hand once weekly to decrease the spread. Spray with 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water to clean and disinfect if needed.
Spray squash plants with BT (Bacillus thuringiensis) if you noticed chewed up leaves caused by worm/caterpillar infestations. Hand pollinate the female flowers to ensure they get pollinated and produce fruit.

Ideal Growing Conditions

Sun: Full sun

Water: Let the soil dry out a little bit in-between watering

Fertilizer: Consistent applications of fertilizer is important to promote lots of new, healthy, green growth to outpace the diseases and pests. Amend the soil with some organic granular fertilizer like Espoma Garden-Tone before direct sowing the seeds. Or sprinkle some into the planting hole if using transplants. Apply 1/4 cup of this fertilizer every 10-14 days to keep the nutrient supply consistent. I don't recommend using a synthetic fertilizer when fertilizing this frequently.

When & How To Sow Seeds: Direct sowing is preferred after your last spring frost date. In warmer climates can also direct sow at end of summer for a fall harvest. Sow 2-3 seeds in a mound, 1/2 inch deep, spaced 2FT apart, in rows spaced 3FT apart. Can also sow seeds indoors in 4 inch pots, 6-8 weeks before your last spring frost date to get an early start.

Germination: 5-10 days

Days To Maturity: 50 days after direct sowing the seed

How & When To Harvest: For best flavor and texture harvest before the zucchini get over 6 inches long. The skin will be light green in color and shiny. I highly encourage you to hand pollinate the female flowers to increase production.

Common Diseases: Squash get a lot of leaf diseases caused by pathogens like molds, fungus spores, bacteria etc.... It is very common, so dont worry. Spray with 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water to clean and disinfect. Repeat every 5 days or so as a preventative, or until you notice the spread of the disease has stopped.

Common Pests: Critters like rabbits love to munch on newly germinated seedlings, so protection from small animals might be required. If you notice the leaves are chewed up and there are small black, green, or orange balls, worms/caterpillars are chewing up the plants. Spray with BT or spinosad to treat for the worms.

Shipping Information

Orders are shipped in 1-3 business days excluding holidays or delays due to natural disasters like hurricanes.

Seeds are shipped in bubble mailers so they will not be pushed through USPS roller machines which can damage the seeds. I will not ship seeds in an envelope for this reason.

Seeds will be shipped with no planting instructions to keep seed costs low to the buyer. Germination and plant care information is included in the description. I encourage each gardener to research specifics on how to be successful growing them. I also have lots of information on my TikTok, Instagram and YouTube channel all under the account name jerrasgarden. I started this shop to share my love of certain seed varieties and spread the knowledge of gardening. Please contact me if you can't find information or have additional questions.

Orders with live plants are packed on Mondays and Thursdays (excluding holidays or delays because of natural disasters. Plants are shipped in boxes with packaging material to protect them while they are in transit.

Refunds & Exchanges

No returns or refunds once shipped. I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages caused by USPS. Since there are so many factors that affect germination and growing success, no refunds or exchanges are allowed once seeds have shipped. These are the same seeds I use in my personal garden so I can attest to their viability. Seeds are fresh season to season.
